The news, briefly
IT Buddy has been named an OpenAI Select Partner within the OpenAI Partner Network – the global program through which OpenAI works with partners who build, deliver, and run AI solutions for customers. Select is the entry tier of the program, below Advanced and Elite. We're saying that plainly because there's no point rounding it off: this is recognition that we're working seriously with OpenAI's platform, not proof that we're best in class.
What it actually involves
Being a Select Partner means we have access to OpenAI's own partner infrastructure – resources, enablement, and direct support to help customers adopt OpenAI's models and products in a way that produces measurable impact, not just another tool in the toolbox.
Worth being precise here: the status says something about our access to OpenAI's partner infrastructure, not about which tool is the right fit for your business.
Why this actually matters for you as a customer
We've long been clear that we recommend Claude from Anthropic in many contexts – that stands, and this doesn't change it. But a governance firm that only knows one vendor well really only has one answer, no matter the question.
With formal training and direct access to the support infrastructure at both Anthropic and OpenAI, we can actually weigh the options against what you need, instead of stretching one vendor's tools to cover everything. Sometimes the answer is Claude. Sometimes it's OpenAI's models or ChatGPT Enterprise. What decides it is your use case – not which vendor we know best.
What doesn't change
This status doesn't replace the groundwork. An OpenAI partnership doesn't make a poor data-flow map better, and it doesn't remove the need for a DPIA or a well-thought-out access model. Structure still decides whether an AI implementation actually succeeds – regardless of which vendor's name is on the box.
